Dear Members,
The Special Members Meeting that was originally scheduled for September 7, 2024 at 1:00pm has been rescheduled.
The new date is now Saturday September 28, 2024 at 1:00pm.
The location is the same as before.

The agenda with the new date and location is attached as well as the ballot you can use to vote on the items that were originally sent to everyone by Dana Properties on August 7, 2024 via email and mail.
You will receive a separate email with the ballot so you can submit your vote electronically if you wish to use that method.

3 Important Meetings
Meeting No 1: Board Meeting to Discuss Proposals on the Ballot
The Board will be Meeting on Thursday November 7, 2024 to discuss and amend the proposals sent to you for the September 28, 2024 meeting by Zoom at 7:00pm-9:00pm
If you would like to provide feedback to the Board on the language being voted on please send your feedback to the board at board@sierra-crest.org. The deadline for any feedback to be considered will be Thursday October 31, 2024 at midnight MST.
Please refer to the items on the September 28, 2024 ballot by their Number and Title and tell us WHAT you propose to change (specific language you are proposing) and WHY (your rationale for such a change).
For example: “Item 2 – Commercial vehicle amendment to the Declaration”
The Board will go through each item for a 5-10 minute discussion at the zoom meeting and will only discuss proposals submitted by members by the deadline at that time. Then the Board will vote on any changes to be included in the ballot.

Meeting No 2: Special Members Meeting to Discuss Francis Lawsuit Against Sierra Crest HOA
The Board is inviting you to attend a Special Members Meeting on Saturday November 16, 2024 to discuss the Lawsuit against the Association by Mr. and Mrs. Francis. The meeting will be held by Zoom at 9:00am-10:00am MST. It is important that you attend to understand the potential liability the Association is facing and how the Board is responding to this lawsuit.

Meeting No 3: 2024 Annual Members Meeting
The Board is inviting you to attend the 2024 Annual Members Meeting. This will take place in person at the Hilton Garden Inn on University. It will take place on Saturday December 14, 2024 at 1:00pm MST.
The Board will be sending the agenda in a separate communication.
It will include the Ballot to vote on the measures that were supposed to be voted on at the September 28, 2024 meeting.
The Board will be presenting the 2025 Budget for member approval and vote.
The Board will also hold the Election of Board Members for the 2025-2026 Term. If you would like to be considered as a candidate to serve on the Board or would like to nominate a member to serve, please submit your name or their name no later than October 31, 2024 at midnight MST. You can submit nominations via email to board@sierra-crest.org. Only those names submitted will be printed on the official Ballot. You can also submit a name with the Secretary John Gates by phone or text at (915) 269-3169. Names submitted after this date can be included as a write-in candidate.
The Board is also taking nominations of members who would like to serve in the various Committees of the Association for 2025. This includes the Architectural Control Committee (ACC), Legal, Finance, Communications, Guardhouse, Landscaping, Common Areas, and Members Committees. You can submit nominations via email to board@sierra-crest.org. You can also submit a name with the Secretary John Gates by phone or text at (915) 269-3169.

Invitation to 3 Important Meetings concerning Sierra Crest
and Request for Nominations to Board and Committees
Dear Sierra Crest Members
This is an important notification regarding upcoming meetings for Sierra Crest Homeowners Association.
As some of you may be aware, the meeting that was scheduled to take place on September 28, 2024 had to be cancelled/postponed due to a point of order brought up by a member. He noted the language required in Texas Law Section 209.00592 regarding absentee ballots was inadvertently missing:
"By casting your vote via absentee ballot you will forgo the opportunity to consider and vote on any action from the floor on these proposals, if a meeting is held. This means that if there are amendments to these proposals your votes will not be counted on the final vote on these measures. If you desire to retain this ability, please attend any meeting in person. You may submit an absentee ballot and later choose to attend any meeting in person, in which case any in-person vote will prevail."
This was an unfortunate oversight that will be corrected for upcoming meetings.
As such, the voting on the proposals did not take place. Any ballots submitted will not be considered and you will need to vote again at the Annual Meeting. The board received feedback that some members wanted to provide input on the proposals. This email will provide instructions on how that will take place.

Attached you will find two PDF files. One of them has the Meeting information, Budget and Proposals.The second is the ballot / absentee ballot that will be used to vote on 5 things:

Given that the Proposed amendments to the Budget require 75 YES votes to pass, we encourage you to invite your friends and neighbors to participate and vote.
